Early life...

Shelly was born and raised in Trivandrum, a coastal town by the southern tip of India


As a young man, Shelly traveled throughout Asia, Europe, and North America trying his hand at an array of careers and trades. Nothing truly resonated however, until his childhood passion for painting was re-kindled.


At nearly 30 years of age, Shelly’s art education began in Austin, Texas. His art journey continued through numerous schools in Texas and Northern California

Since that time, Shelly’s dedication to creating beautiful and expressive paintings has manifested broadly into the development of a wide range of enthusiastic collectors, exhibitions, and awards.

His work at times surreal, are referenced from his travels, experiences, and dreams.


Passionate about art, he loves the process of learning and constantly challenge himself to see the world in new ways. His interests are quite varied as he is most drawn to psychological, mysterious and evocative imagery.

Shelly Henry is currently living in Seattle, Washington where he maintains his studio.
